Leah & Todd’s Summer Engagement Session on the Boston Esplanade | Boston Wedding Photographer

Leah & Todd are getting married at the Boston Millenium Hotel next November and in keeping with their very “Boston” wedding, they wanted their engagement session in Beacon Hill and the Boston Esplanade. We started off on the Hill where we made several little stops (including Myrtle Street where I once lived over 10 years ago!)

I loved the washed out brick and blue windows of this next building on Pinckney Street – it seemed to perfectly complement the colors in Leah’s dress and Todd’s shirt 🙂

Then it was Todd’s turn to be the model 🙂

We found this great old doorway that just seemed to frame these two lovebirds perfectly…

On our way down the hill…so cute!

After leaving the Hill we crossed the Longfellow Bridge to get a nice shot of Leah & Todd with downtown Boston as a backdrop:

Finally, we made our way over to the Esplanade which was full of sailors, kayakers, roller bladers and sunbathers! What was supposed to be a gray, overcast, cool day, turned into a sunny, hot beach day 🙂

Enjoying a quiet moment along the river together 🙂

Cynthia & Benito’s Kick-A$%! Dance-Off Wedding :) | Boston Wedding Photographer

I had such a blast from start to finish shooting Cynthia and Benito’s wedding. They are just one of those amazing couples whose energy, love and joy is contagious. Just being around them all day, seeing how madly in love they are, how real they are and how much their friends and family love them was inspiring. And did I mention those two can dance? I mean, REALLY DANCE. I had a hard time choosing highlight photos because there were so many great ones, but here’s a little sneak peek from their wedding 🙂

Cynthia was so stunning, and I think her inner beauty really shines through in the photos – love that smile!

After we left Cynthia’s sister’s house where the girls got ready, we headed over to the Fuller Craft Museum for some bridal party formals:

The guys were ready to get the party started! Little did I know what was in store later on the dance floor….

We continued on to Tower Hill at the D.W. Field Park in Brockton for some more shots of the couple and their bridal party. For the most part, the rain held off until the ceremony but we were armed with umbrellas, just in case 🙂

Then it was off to the church to get married!

Finally, we headed to Emerald Hall for the couple’s ~~dance-off~~ (I mean reception) 🙂

There were many toasts from friends and family…

And then began the real dancing! You can’t tell in the picture below but Cynthia changed into a cocktail dress and some chucks (to match the groom’s). She looked incredible!

The father-daughter dance was adorable. And soon after, it was time for the garter…Benito made quite a show of it! 🙂

Having shot their engagement photos last year, I knew these guys were amazing and that their wedding would be equally amazing, but I was still blown away. Cynthia and Benito, you are both so blessed to have found your soulmates in each other. It was an honor (and such a pleasure!!) to be a part of your wedding.

A Beautiful Engagement Session in Honor of Dad | Boston Engagement Photographer

When I met with Laurie and Adam last year to discuss their wedding plans, I was immediately touched by Laurie’s story. Her father, Richard Gorgone, had recently passed away (shortly after Adam asked for Laurie’s hand in marriage) and it was important to her that her father and his memory be honored and celebrated at the wedding. Having lost my own Dad when I was 14, I understand how bittersweet it can be to experience a milestone event and feel the absence of a beloved parent. We talked about how she would like to include her Dad and she mentioned wanting to do some graveside shots for their engagement portrait.

It had been raining all weekend and was supposed to continue to rain the morning of their session. I would have suggested we postpone but the couple had a tightly packed schedule so we went ahead, armed with umbrellas and rain boots 🙂 Miraculously, the rain held off until we were about to wrap up the shoot…we even caught a very brief glimpse of the sun.

These first two shots were taken at Mr. Gorgone’s grave in the Waltham Calvary Cemetery:

Adam is such a sweet guy – he did his job providing hugs, kisses and keeping Laurie warm 🙂

After a quick change of clothes, we headed over to Bullough’s Pond in Newton for some more photos of the couple:

Stunning shots of Laurie…I’m excited to see how gorgeous she looks in her wedding dress!

Another clothing change later and side-kick Sophie joined the party, at the couple’s request! She is fast-becoming my most popular accessory for photo shoots 🙂

One final stop at Newton City Hall: Could these guys be any cuter?
