Sharon & Dan’s Snowy Christmas Wedding! | Boston-Charlestown-Salem Wedding Photographer

Remember the first big snow storm of this winter in Boston?  It certainly was memorable for me – and for a few others I suspect! – since it happened to fall on the day of Sharon & Dan’s lovely winter wedding.  You might remember these two lovebirds from their awesome waterfront engagement session last spring 🙂  Given the *flurry* of weather reports all week forecasting snow, (and LOTS of it!), I was excited, if perhaps a bit trepidatious, preparing for this wedding.  On the one hand, it could be beautiful, wintry and magical.  On the other, a freezing cold, icy, slushy, dreary mess.  The morning of the wedding was insanely cold…with requests for outdoor photos of the bride and groom and their wedding party, I was wondering how we were going to manage.  We of course had indoor locations as backup but were hoping we could capture some of beautiful Charlestown where Dan & Sharon were to be married….

The girls got ready at the Marriott Residence Inn Boston Harbor on Tudor Wharf  while the guys got ready at Dan’s apartment in Back Bay…

Stunning bride Sharon:

Over at Dan’s, Jenn captured these shots of the groom penning a note to his future wife…

Dan looking sharp!

The guys headed over to the join the girls in Charlestown….

And Dan saw Sharon for the first time in her gorgeous dress:

We did a few photos in the freezing cold – everyone was such good sports about it (especially the ladies!)

And a few of just the bride and groom on Tudor Wharf:

We made a quick stop along the way to the church for these photos…Charlestown was all dressed up for Christmas!

Then it was time to get married at Saint Catherine of Siena Parish:

Exchanging vows and rings…

After the ceremony, the newlyweds did a few family formals at the church before venturing back outside for a few more photos:

By the time we left the church it was snowing heavily…although at first, it seemed like it was straight out of a movie: perfect, light fluffy, pretty snow!  And as the sky was dimming, we managed to get some beautiful, snow-filled photos of the bride and groom.  First we stopped at Monument Park:

I love this pretty shot of  Sharon ♥

Sharon and Dan wanted a few more photos with the wedding party and everyone came out ready to play in the snow!

We made one final stop at City Square Park before heading up to Salem for the reception.  I loved the gorgeous red winter berries and Christmas lights….

Getting very snowy!!  One last shot before getting back onto the trolley:

The wedding reception was at Colonial Hall at Rockafellas in historic downtown Salem:

The hall was decorated with a beautiful Christmas tree and a pine cone-topped wedding cake:

Dan & Sharon shared their first dance as husband and wife:

They cut the cake…

And Sharon danced with her Dad 🙂

Then Dan danced with his Mom 🙂  Afterwards, the couple gathered their Holy Cross friends and alums together for a big group photo!

There was lots of dancing, limbo and dressing up at the photo booth!

It was a wonderful fun-filled day in celebration of a wonderful couple…

I love this last shot of the bride and groom’s kiss ♥♥♥Sharon and Dan:  wishing you many, many years of happiness ahead!  Thank you for including me in your celebration 🙂

Leah & Todd’s Downtown Boston Wedding at the Milennium Bostonian | Boston wedding Photographer

I connected with Leah and Todd right away when we first met.  They both love to travel and we share an affinity for Paris, where Todd proposed to Leah (also my birthplace :)) Their very “Boston” wedding at the Millennium Bostonian right in downtown, was followed by a lovely honeymoon in Italy.  Here are some highlights from their beautiful late fall wedding beginning with these getting ready shots:

Lovely bride Leah in her stunning dress and veil:

And some shots of the groom getting ready at the other end of the hotel:

Todd’s room had a great view of Quincy Market and the Faneuil Hall Clock Tower:

Soon-to-be husband and wife met up on the roofdeck of the hotel for their “first look.”

We headed across the street to Faneuil Hall for a few shots of the bride and groom while their families and wedding party gathered for photos.

Then we all hopped on the Beantown trolley and headed to the Boston Public Garden for some wedding party formals.  We were pleasantly surprised to find a lot of colorful foliage around Frog Pond for early November:

Despite the chilly temps, Leah and Todd happily strolled through the Public Garden…You wouldn’t know it from the photos (careful timing and selective cropping), but the garden was surprisingly full of visitors.  Thankfully, we managed to get some great shots of the bride and groom:

After leaving the garden, we made one last stop on the trolley at the Old State House.  The light was soft as dusk was falling:

Back at the hotel, we did a few more formal photos of the couple and their relatives in the lovely Millennium lobby:

Then we headed upstairs for the ketubah signing (signing of the Jewish marriage contract) before the start of their wedding ceremony.

Both the bride and groom were walked down the aisle by their parents 🙂

The bride circled the groom three times…

And they stood together beneath the chuppah, exchanging vows:

Then it was time for the breaking of the glass and everyone chimed in with “Mazel Tov!” to the newlyweds…

The dinner reception followed and was full of lovely seasonal details including; leaves, pumpkins, pine cones and hot apple cider:

The bride and groom danced their first dance as husband and wife – now these two can dance!!

After dinner, it was time to cut the cake:

Then the groom danced with his Mom and the bride danced with both her father and Step-father:

The Hora dance was a blast, as always!  If you’ve never been to a Jewish wedding before, this is when the couple are lifted up on chairs while everyone dances and sings around them in joyful celebration.  It’s awesome.

Then the party really got crazy with some impressive freestyle and breakdancing on the dance floor!

It was a lovely wedding for an equally lovely and sweet couple.  Leah and Todd – I loved meeting you both and being a part of your special day…thanks for including me and “Mazel Tov”!!!

You might remember little Rohan from his 1-month old photo session here.  A year and a half later and look at how grown up he is now!  It’s impossible not to fall in love with such cuteness…

Leaving Monument Square…

“Just look at my pouty face!  Just kidding…I’m all smiles, see? =) ”

“I look really cute in hats too!”

“Cool pumpkin…but what’s this branch doing here?”

With Mommy & Daddy:

“Who asked Mommy to throw leaves on my head?!”

“I guess getting my picture taken isn’t so bad…”
