Bride Ani (26) and Groom Haik (30) both immigrated to America from Armenia when they were young. They both lived in Watertown with their families for most of their lives without ever having crossed paths until one fateful day, eight years ago, when Ani opened up a Facebook account.
She was a senior in high school and knew Haik’s younger sister Ester from school, so she sent Haik a friend request. Haik immediately accepted Ani’s request and replied with the message, “You are the green-eyed girl I saw walking down the street in Watertown while I was driving and thought I’d never see again…” The two felt an instant connection and after nonstop messaging back and forth for a week on Facebook, Haik finally asked Ani out to dinner to continue the conversation.
That first sushi date was just the beginning. They dated all throughout college, as Haik went on to study Industrial Design at Wentworth and Ani studied Sociology at Northeastern University. After graduating, Haik and a partner opened up their own design business called Jaywalk Studio. Ani began working for a large nonprofit organization called Year Up that provides opportunities for low-income young adults to become financially successful.
On their 7-year anniversary, Haik planned a surprise, romantic weekend getaway at the historical Dan’l Webster Inn & Spa and proposed on that very night. I had the pleasure of meeting the engaged couple during their initial consultation, and noticed right away that they were both so excited to be married and were deeply in love 🙂 Fast-forward to their wedding day and I think that sentiment is pretty clear from the photos!
