Alicia & Barry’s Winter Wedding at the Charles Hotel! | Cambridge Wedding Photographer

It was a beautiful and sunny day in late January when Alicia and Barry tied the knot.  Their wedding day came on the heels of some pretty horrendous and insanely cold winter weather so we were fortunate to have a “mild” winter day in the 30’s and a good dose of sunshine.  These guys deserved it.  They are such a sweet, down-to-earth couple and I had a blast spending their wedding day with them 🙂

We started the day off with some getting ready photos of the bride and her bridesmaids at the Harvard Square Hotel.  The room had a nice view of Winthrop Street in Harvard Square:

Alicia picked out a non-traditional bouquet of teal, black and white silk flowers, and blingy rhinestone-encrusted broches which matched her shoes and the bridesmaids’ dresses perfectly!

The bride’s twin nieces were the cutest flowergirls…

And here’s the beautiful bride!

The guys were at the same hotel, getting ready a few floors below:

Barry had the coolest baseball cufflinks (they were made from the remnants of a real baseball) and his brother gave him the locket that their mother wore when she was alive, with pictures inside of her family.

The groom getting ready:

Alicia and Barry decided to do a “first look” so they could have their formal photos done before their evening ceremony.  Bride and groom saw each other for the first time on Winthrop Street:

I love Barry’s expression in this shot when he sees how pretty Alicia looks!

Then we headed towards the Charles hotel for some photos of the bride and groom.  They were troopers, shooting outside in the chilly weather!

Soon-to-be husband and wife 🙂

The sunlight was so pretty behind the trees…I love the two shots below:

We walked a little down JFK street and stopped for a few more shots in front of the wrought-iron gate…a pretty backdrop for some solo shots of Alicia:

Then we returned to the hotel where Alicia and Barry’s family and wedding party were waiting to do their formal photos.  We made an executive decision to do those indoors, so no one would end up with frostbite! 😉

We did a couple more shots of the bride and groom outdoors before heading inside for the wedding ceremony!

The Rialto restaurant was beautifully decorated, so warm and inviting, with a lovely view of Harvard Square.  Here’s the bride walking in with her Dad:

Yay!  Now husband and wife…

They had a beautiful cocktail reception in the bar area of the restaurant with lots of yummy passed hors d’oeuvres:

Then, everyone headed back into the dining area for the dinner reception:

Alicia’s Dad made a toast to the newlyweds:

Kissing as husband and wife <3

Cutting the cake:

And sharing their first dance together to open the dance floor for the evening!

The twins were awesome twirlers and danced up a storm 🙂

What a wonderful, intimate winter wedding with a special group of people.  All my best wishes to this amazing couple!!!
